🚀 data.world MCP Server Is Here

We're thrilled to announce the release of the data.world MCP Server — a powerful new way to bring your data catalog directly into your favorite AI assistants and agents.

What's New: MCP Server for AI Assistants

The Challenge: You've got great catalog content — rich metadata, business glossary terms, relationships, and governance insights. But those AI tools you use every day? They don't know about it. That means missed opportunities for smarter discovery, faster enrichment, and more accurate AI-powered actions.

The Solution: The data.world MCP Server connects your catalog to AI tools and agents through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — an open standard that lets large language models interact with external systems.

What You Can Do With It

Once you connect the MCP Server, you gain natural language superpowers over your catalog:

🔍 Search & Discovery — Ask your AI assistant to find catalog resources or business terms using plain English.

Enrichment at Scale — Update descriptions, relationships and other metadata attributes. Create new resources and glossary terms powered by your existing catalog content and AI intelligence.

Supported AI Platforms

You can use the MCP Server with any MCP-compatible client, including:

  • Claude (Web, API, and Claude Code)
  • Google Gemini
  • ChatGPT and other OpenAI tools
  • Any other MCP-compatible AI assistant or agent
